As we re-open our office and are back to normal business hours, please take a moment to read through some of the changes you will experience at your next appointment. These are protocols put in place by the CDC, the Alabama Department of Public Health, the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama and our staff to keep you and our staff safe during your visit:
We ask that you fill out all patient forms before your appointment. You can access all of our patient forms on our website to fill out online, print at home, or we would be happy to mail or email them to you.
When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in your car instead of entering the waiting room. Call or text the office at (205)979-8655 to let us know you are here and a member of the staff will come to your car, take your temperature, and ask a short series of questions. The waiting room will be closed and will no longer offer magazines, waters, or coffee to practice social distancing and eliminate items that are difficult to clean and disinfect.
No one may accompany you inside the office for your appointment unless the patient is a minor or disabled.
Once you enter the office, you will be directed to a cleaning station to sanitize your hands. From this point forward, we ask that you refrain from touching anything in the office.
We encourage patients to use the restroom before coming to our office. If a patient must use the restroom, the front restroom will be made available and will be thoroughly disinfected after each use.
Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean your appointment will take longer than usual or that you’re offered fewer options when scheduling your appointment.
We are purposefully scheduling greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in any common areas at one time.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice.
As our community copes with the fast-moving spread of the COVID-19 virus, we hope you and yours are in good health during these stressful times.
In compliance with the American Dental Association and the CDC recommendations, Birmingham Smiles Dentistry will be suspending all non-emergency clinical care. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will remain available for any emergency dental problems that require immediate treatment in order to alleviate severe infection or pain.
If you are not sure whether or not you are having a true dental emergency, answer the following questions:
• Are you in severe pain?
• Have you been hit in the face or mouth?
• Do you have any swelling in the mouth or facial area?
• Are you bleeding from the mouth?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, please contact us by telephone (205-979-8655) or by email ([email protected])
We hope everyone stays healthy and safe over the next few weeks and we look forward to serving you again in the near future.
